GIFT II – India Revisited
bCA Galleries™ is proud to announce GIFT II, an exhibition of artworks of the renowned contemporary Italian artists Azelio Corni and Pino Ceriotti in Mumbai. This is their second show in India, the earlier one was held in November at the Kamalnayan Bajaj Art gallery as part of the ongoing Festa-Italiana organised by bCA Galleries™ in conjunction with the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce. Their first show got a glowing response from all quarters of the art world in Mumbai, including Indian artists, art critics and art lovers alike. Their inherent curiosity about our unique culture and the desire to give as much as they receive from our great country has inspired them to have another show. The selected works of Azelio and Pino will be displayed at:
The Showroom Jayant Furnishers Pvt. Ltd. Batliwalla Agiary Compound Opp. Tardeo Bus Depot Tardeo Mumbai – 400 034
From: 17th February – 17th March
Opening: 17th February 6.00 pm onwards
Azelio Corni emphasizes the human effort in creation of art. He bemoans the use of computerisation that is becoming prevalent in the art arena abroad. In fact he feels that “art is what separates man from machines.” He uses raw canvas and charcoal to produce monumental works that overwhelm and at the same time offer to the eye of the viewer uncanny moments. One could get lost in the maze of concentric circles he weaves or experience a warm protected feeling in his interconnecting mesh of lines. His work redefines space and offers a new perspective to the Indian viewer.
Pino Ceriotti presents his tribute to India. He has been here on previous occasions and his work is larger than life portraits of inspiring giants who have had an immense contribution in sculpting our great sub-continent. He infuses in his subjects expressions of high communicability and magnetism. An explicit display of human energy and vibrations are transferred from the colours of the paintings, to the eyes of the viewers. Uniquely he chooses to create his works on bed sheets and tablecloths rather than canvas, because his family has been involved in the textile business for many generations and this is his way of keeping in touch with his roots.

About the Artists
Azelio Corni was born in Sesto Calende, near Milan ( Italy) in 1948; he graduated from Brera Academy in Milan, now he lives and works in Castelletto Sopra Ticino, a township near Milan. Azelio Corni’s mission is to build up the form, which results in being a human process. If the gaze discovers the world, it reveals it in the moment it proceeds with the parallel imitation, not a mere reproduction or a mirror image. So the addition and subtraction of the part becomes method, ritual, but also a meditation. In this highly charged spiritual methodology he presents work, which never ceases to impress and challenge the sub-conscious.
Pino Ceriotti (commonly known by his friend as “Pece”) was born in Busto Arsizio, near Varese ( Italy) the 13th of June 1955, where he still lives and work. His artistic practice has been, for many years, focused on expressive activities in the field of painting and photography, stressing the importance of the Oriental Culture. He is active and practicing in the field of art therapy, social activities and collaborates with Medical and Psychiatrists institutions. He participates in numerous, national/internationals, personal and collective exhibitions. Pino Ceriotti’s pectoris research is characterized by a post-pop aura, made possible with the use of prints cuttings, bits of material, over which he paints. The massive oil portraits that he produces, posses a mystical drive, the subjects are modern icons of the world culture, images of personalities, which are realistic and at the same time symbolic.
