God is merciful. He hates causing pain to His most beautiful creation, ‘Man’ …………………….Tsunami, Earthquake, Glacier, Volcano, Floods, Hurricane……. Paradox is the essence of Life, conflict, its benefactor. Nothing and no one is without conflict, including, the Supreme Being. God is merciful. He hates causing pain to His most beautiful creation, Man. But when man crosses the line of humanity, God is driven to push him to repentance; so that he would be humbled and ask forgiveness for his sins. The collection juxtaposes this basic core of human psyche, who though living on nature, are constantly exploiting it. A painting can simply be a pretty picture, soothing the viewer’s mind, or it could run deeper with a hidden meaning, provoking thought. Each work in the collection, ‘Nature vs. Man’, looks at a different natural calamity encompassing mankind. While a few paintings subtly contrast nature and man, others portray the actual calamities, dramatically showing man’s role in bringing about the disaster on himself. |
