Themes for my paintings are no different from my thoughts of our general talk. They are not some alien kind of any unseen belief. It's all about the place and opportunity given and provided by the society, one may say system. System is a very interesting thing for me to talk about. One can find the place for his basic instincts in it. Somehow it provides the passages to entertain one's animal kind of instincts, but, in a precise way. In the dark folds of histories, it can be seen easily, that, system is a synthesis between our instincts and the social norms we try to idealize for ourselves. I try to make a mark on some major well accepted institutions, or well accepted social practices. I try to draw attention to the necessity of any major activity, which is not related to the production of any commodity, directly or indirectly. I want to talk about the scale, by which we feel ourselves socialized and proud in some manner. And if any drama is creating any profit. Then profit goes to whom? And, this is very thrilling to know that anything we see, is a little part of a long process. One would be provided with all those things what are necessary to fulfill your desires. This is of how to cash those instincts of a male dominated society. But, those would be provided in such a manner that will create a profit. So this is all about how to channelize your inner wild sigh towards a worldwide business.
Such as, the relevance of a beauty contest in a male dominated society. I see all of them as a high profile sales girl and nothing else. Of course there is their intellect, but that is of no use after her selection. And if there is any useful of that, that would be for how to present her. Sometimes I come in search of reasoning only and sometimes a good play of thoughts with colors is enough for me. The political happenings of this globe, the strategies and the theories given by the nations, or some sects, to mislead the general thought for their hidden purposes. All of them are interesting for me. There are some newly invented compositions of words, such as , "The clashes of civilizations". Sometimes a theory could be more dangerous than any practical move. It is the strength of that vision and sometimes the wickedness of the same. And there, one would have to be responsible.
There is something far beyond the knowledge of the objective relations; there is a need to feel the volume; there is a search to know the mystic. At this place, color is a kind of thematic statement for me. Each color has its own volume. I choose them according my subject. Going through the central line of any subject, you can't go beyond the depth of field of that line. You would have to stay with in. I try to go to that extent from where you can peep out of that depth of field. But you would have to be there in any form. Sometimes that window creates a kind of metaphor, and I feel that window, of very much importance in my canvas. I try to create and confront on more than one level. From where one can go through one level to another one, without hiding. Its like a dream and a reality and the exact moment, when one shifts from this to that. I want these three things on a same plane.
And that is the place to hide, you can't color it up. There is a hollow, there is deep cry unheard. There is more to know, there is more unseen around us.
